Hallo Klasse,

I found this article to be extremely interesting. i was unaware that Germans and Americans shared so much in culture. The part that found particularly interesting was the fact that when the Germans migrated to the United States they came to the Mid-west where the climate is very similar in German. this makes a lot of since yet at the same time its remarkable. You would think the Germans would have left there country to seek a new land, not one entirely similar to their own home. The other thing that caught my attention was the way in which our cultures are intertwined which becomes evident when one looks at the different words we have in English that come from a German origin. Such as Brat, kindergarten, und schnitzel. This hints to the connection between these very common cultures.
